Naturopathic MedicineNaturopathic Medicine centers around providing individualized health care, specific to the person. It investigates and treats the root cause of diseases, rather than just palliate symptoms. By treating the root cause, symptoms decrease and overall health increases. Naturopathic Medicine takes into account and treats all levels of a person, the mental, emotional and physical level. In Naturopathic Medicine there is no "magic pill", but rather gentle guidance to better health and healing. The ultimate goal is to bring the individual back to a natural healthy balance and guide to individual to keep that healthy happy balance

Who Are Naturopathic Doctors? |
Naturopathic doctors are primary health care practitioners, able to treat a wide scope of health concerns. We undergo vigorous training in medical sciences as well as alternative therapies, through a four-year Naturopathic Doctorate at an accredited Naturopathic Medical College. Naturopathic Doctors are proclaimed in Ontario and are regulated under the College of Naturopaths and practice under the Health Care Practitioner Act. Similar to traditional Medical Doctors, they perform full and complaint-specific physical exams, diagnostic/laboratory tests, and take detailed medical histories and intakes. They create treatment plans specific to the individual and their route cause, using a wide variety of natural treatments (know as "modalities") and lifestyle changes.

What To Expect On Your First Visit. |
When you first arrive, you will be asked to fill out some initial intake forms. These forms include an intake form (asking about your present and past health history), a review of systems form, and consent to treatment forms. The first appointment will run approximately 90 minutes - addressing your health concerns as well as answering any questions, health goals, coming up with a health plan and performing a complaint-specific physical exam. In the first visit your optimal health plan will be discussed, and a treatment plan will be created for you which will be implemented in follow-up visits. Follow-ups visits will be 60, 45 or 30 minutes in length depending on the treatment plan, and frequency of visits will be discussed in the first visit (depends on the treatment plan and your availability)
